Siddhpur Postcard

Siddhpur(Gujrat) is very famous for Matrugaya Sraddh(A traditional Hindu rituals after death of Mother). Siddhpur has also second identity. Which is not much famous. The second identity is that Siddhpur has so many colorful and majestic houses of Dawoodi Vohra people.Mohalla of Bohra houses called 'Vohrvaad' in local Gujrati dialect.
All houses stand in rhythmic line ups and squares. All the houses are like celebration of Color. It's an example of residential architect in Gujrat.

European and Islamic Jugalbandi
Interesting fact is, All the Vohrvaad homes has European architectural appeal form outside, and inside It has full of islamic interior, which made form wooden. So it looks modern form outside and traditional from inside.
near about 100 years old this all homes are Raw houses.
Generally Raw houses gives not much eye soothing appeal after some extent, because of it's uniformed. Siddhpur is a classic case study of surprises.
